Screw one into the porch or garage socket and the light waits for you. A PIR bulb sees movement below it through an open fixture. A radar bulb sees through a glass shade. Both stay dark in daylight.

GREENIC started in 2017 with two small things: a pair of red plug-in night lights and a yellow bulb for a porch. The night lights came on at dusk and went off at dawn without anyone touching them. The yellow bulb kept blue light out of the porch beam. That was the whole idea, and it still is: a light that knows when it should be on, and a color that suits the place it lights.
Everything we have made since grew from those two. The plug-in night lights became a family: red and blue arches, square frosted panels, a multicolor bubble shade, and a blue one that waits for movement instead of darkness. The porch bulb led to colored bulbs in green, red, blue, purple and orange, and to a brighter yellow bulb with its own dusk sensor.
Motion sensor bulbs came next, because the most common question we heard was simple. Can the porch light turn on only when someone is there? A motion sensor bulb answers it without an electrician. You take out the old bulb, screw ours in, and leave the wall switch on.
We make two kinds, and they are not interchangeable. A PIR bulb has an infrared eye at the tip that reads the warmth of a moving body. It needs a clear view, so it belongs in an open fixture or a bare socket, pointing down. A radar bulb sends out a weak signal and reads the echo. It can see through a glass lantern and around the sides of a fixture, but it can also see through a thin wall, so it may wake for movement in the next room.

Screw-in UV bulbs for a lamp or a ceiling can, and USB bars and strips for shelves and desks. Posters, paint and neon colors glow. Plain walls stay dark.
Before a new bulb joins the range, our team screws it into the places it is meant for: a dark hallway, the socket over a garage door, a closed porch lantern. We note where the sensor sees and where it does not, and we write that on the product page. When a bulb has a limit, you will read about it before you buy, not after.
Color is the other half of what we do, and we treat it as a tool. Yellow belongs on a porch in summer. Red suits a bedroom at night, when you want to find the door without waking up fully. UV is for a party or a poster wall, and it is useless for reading. We say so on each page, because a colored bulb bought for the wrong room is a wasted bulb.

GREENIC plug-in night lights
Half a watt, a light sensor, and a plug that leaves the second outlet free. Red for the bedroom, blue for the hallway, motion sensing for the stairs.
The black light range started with a request from a friend who painted glow murals: a UV bulb that screws into an ordinary lamp. Today it covers A19 and BR30 bulbs for sockets and ceiling cans, and USB bars and strips for shelves, desks and the back of a TV. They all give UVA light between about 380 and 410 nanometers, the range that makes fluorescent paint glow.
What we do not make matters too. There is no smart bulb in the GREENIC range, no app, no hub. Nothing here dims. Our bulbs switch on and off by sensor, by timer, or by the wall switch you already have. If you want a light that changes color from your phone, we are the wrong shop, and we would rather tell you now.

I ordered 2 bulbs and put one in the entryway and one in the basement. The one in the entryway works great, it senses movement outside the front door and pops on before opening the door, which was great. The other I put in my unfinished basement. I only go down there to service the furnace or for Holiday decorations.

Worked Great, like how they do not turn on in daytime
Got some of these for our Halloween party and they were a hit. Great color, durable bulb. Didn’t feel like it was putting out much heat, and is a regular screw in bulb, so easy to swap in and out. Not dimmable, but that’s okay. It’s got great color production and was just what we were looking for.
Will a motion sensor bulb work in my closed porch light?
Only the radar bulbs. A PIR bulb reads warmth through an open view and cannot see through glass. The radar bulbs sense through a glass shade and around the sides of a fixture.
Why is my motion sensor bulb on in the daytime?
When you first switch a sensor bulb on, it lights for a short time while it checks the light level. The radar bulb goes out after about 17 seconds with no movement. In daylight it then stays dark.
Can I use these bulbs with a dimmer?
No. None of the GREENIC bulbs are dimmable, and the sensor bulbs need a plain on-off switch that stays on.
Do yellow bug lights keep insects away?
They attract fewer of many flying insects than a white bulb, but they do not repel or kill anything. Our guide on bug lights explains what the studies found.
Which night light is best for a bedroom?
A red one. Red marks the floor and the door without flooding the room. The red arch and the red square night lights both come on at dusk by themselves.
